Midland Kiwanis Foundation – Past & Present

The Kiwanis Club of Midland created the Midland Kiwanis Foundation in 1959.  Its initial funding was a gift of Dow Chemical Stock from a Club member.  Today it is a major source of financial support for Midland and Midland County projects and programs.  Approximately 20 different 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations and groups receive financial assistance from the Foundation on an annual basis.

In recent years, the Midland Kiwanis Club has constructed play equipment and provided scholarships for needy pre-school children to attend preschool programs at Midland County’s multiple Community Centers along with many other activities. These activities are funded through the Foundation’s growth in its investment portfolio and the Club’s fundraising efforts.
